LA Lakers guard Luka Doncic has joined the Slovenian national basketball team for the start of preparations for the upcoming European Championship.
Team coach Aleksander Sekulic said he is extremely excited to see Luka Doncic back with the team and revealed that the basketball player will be available for the friendly match against Germany.
“Everyone is looking forward to Luka, but in the meantime, we continue with the work we have to do”, said Aleksander Sekulic. “We are perfecting the things that we have already laid the foundation for and we will adapt Luka to them. We expect him to play against Germany – at least that is the plan. The rest of the team can’t wait to play with him. Every time he comes, he immediately has a positive impact on the team both on and off the court. It is a great privilege to be able to work in sports and compete at a level like the European Championship. It is an even greater privilege to have such a talent that is born once in a generation, like Luka. I am pleased that he shows great motivation,” added the head coach of the Slovenian national team.
Slovenia will face Poland, France, Belgium, Iceland and Israel in the group stage of EuroBasket 2025, playing their matches in Katowice, Poland.
