Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell has been recognized as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. In three games for Indiana Fever, she averaged 25.3 points and 5.7 assists per game.
During a comeback victory against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, she matched her career high and set Indiana Fever franchise record with 38 points. This marked her 11th game scoring over 30 points in her career, surpassing Tamika Catchings for the most such games in Fever franchise history.
Unfortunately, Indiana Fever lost the other two games during the week. In the defeat against the Dallas Wings, Kelsey Mitchell scored 24 points, and she contributed 14 points in the loss to the Washington Mystics.
Kelsey Mitchell now joins Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas as the only Indiana Fever players to have received a Player of the Week award four or more times.
As of Tuesday, Indiana Fever hold a record of 19-16, placing them sixth in the WNBA standings.
Indiana Fever will return to the court on Friday to face the Minnesota Lynx, with the game set to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
